Auroch nature path. It is a 2 km long path which allows you to get acquainted with the plants and animals in the forest. Visiting 11 stops you will see an auroch cottage, an old pine “Marija”, auroch enclosure, nesting boxes for bats, mixed woods with oaks, damp forest marshes, mixed forest, nesting boxes for dormouse, a clearing in a pine grove, an old auroch feeding ground and an almgrove.
Auroch breeding ground was set up in 1969 in the Pašilių forest having made 50 ha enclosures near Girelės individual farm. A pair of aurochs was brought from Russian Priokskas reserve. At the moment 16 aurochs live in the enclosure. At least 40 animals are free, roaming around the auroch breeding enclosure at a distance of 30-40 km. The breeding place of these animals attracts the visitors of Krekenava Regional park from the whole Lithuania and many countries of the world.
Near the auroch breeding ground you will visit the partizan dug-outs and have a walk along the forest path.
“Forester's path” is located in Varnakalnis forest of Krekenava forester's district. It is a one kilometer path which allows you to familiarize yourself with species of trees, forest layers, the main tasks of forest care and protection, the main concepts of forestry. All the information is given in five stops. The visitors of the forest are met by “Forester's path” gates. At the end of the path in forester's cottage-shed there is an exposition of photographs of forest animals and birds, pictures of young forest visitors, creative works. From a small tower there opens the view of picturesque Linkava stream valley and steep slope.

- Well. As much as I hate to admit it, there's a lot of truth to not being able to do it all in one short (maybe very short) lifetime. Doing and hinavg It All must be some ancient hoarding instinct: Like the squirrel that gathers more nuts for winter than it could ever possibly eat. Hm-m-m .Despite and because of the squirrel, some of those buried acorns turn into mighty oak trees. Now let me go think about that.

- Thank you for the activity page and for your wduferonl books. My third graders at Berry Elementary (an Environmental Science magnet school in Houston, TX) adore Sticky Burr. They have been passing our copies around the classroom like crazy, and keep asking me when the next one is coming out. Is there another story in the works?
